Developed script- 'The Unfinished Robot'
Act 1
Exposition
A workshop purposed to build robots. It uses advanced technology but it is not a shiny futuristic setting, more of a 'steampunk' workshop. A world where technology allows robots to have a personality and conciousness, true artificial intelligence. But robots are not thought equal and are regularly mis-treated and used for manual labour.
Inciting incident
The robot is thrown away by his master into the rejection bin, unfinished and deeply hurt. He is missing his legs, and arm and one eye. He seems to be a pathetic creature.
Plot point 1
While lying in the rejection bin the robot sees his master interacting with his other creations, treating the finished robots in the workshop with admiration and pride.. He then vows to complete himself no matter the cost and win his masters approval. He'll show him that he can be just like one of his great creations.
Act 2
Midpoint
The determined robot seeks out other robots in the workshop for the parts. After his master leaves the workshop for the night, he crawls out of the rejection bin. He sneaks up on the 'sleeping' robots scattered around the workshop and begins pulling off the parts he needs, in effect destroying the robot.
By adding all these different parts from other 'living' robots he begins
to hear the voices of the robots he took apart. Each robot part he
added contains still contains the 'soul' or personality of the previous
owner.
Plot point 2
The voices in his head become to much and he is overcome with grief. He dramatically rips off the parts he added to himself in a fit of rage/madness.
Resolution:
Defeated he crawls back into the rejection bin as incomplete as he was at the beginning. Selfishness has got him no where and his quest has destroyed the other robots in the workshop. Although the motivation to complete himself and become whole was an innocent one, his actions were destructive and negatively impacted others. The robot has learned a tough lesson.
